Palmeritas

After publishing the first script, it's time to post an easy recipe in order to have something to eat while hacking around with the flashcards code. I don't know the name in English for these cookies, so I will use the Spanish name, Palmeritas.

You will be surprised how easy is to make them. I found the recipe in Blog de cuina, and I couldn't believe how simple it is.

First of all, you need to buy Puff pastry. It is sold in the supermarkets in the same format as the fresh pizza pastry, rolled like a tube. Once opened and unrolled, you just have to add sugar in both sides of the pastry, and roll it again but starting to roll from both sides, so you will end up with something like this:

Finally, you need to slice it and put the remaining pieces on the oven tray. You should use the paper that comes with the puff pastry roll between the Palmeritas and the tray, because cleaning the melted sugar from it may become harder than the recipe itself. You may also take into account that they will increase their size during the cooking time, so don't put them too close to each other.

After about 15 minutes at 200 ºC ( 392 ºF) they should look like the first photo of this post. You will find it so hard to wait until they are cold!!
